Windshield Washer and Coolant Reservoirs

Windshield washer fluid often sloshes out of the reservoir (shown low in the photo) and can spill down onto frame members, leaving a crusty residue. Don’t mistake this for a leak in the reservoir or the lines. If there’s a leak, you’ll likely see it as moisture or a puddle. If necessary, fill up the reservoir and wait a while to see if it leaks. The coolant reservoir (shown high in the photo) shouldn’t spill out because it has a screw cap that keeps pressure in the system when the coolant is hot, and it’s rarely opened for topping up.
