Water and Salt Residue on Hood Insulation

Here’s an example of water and salt residue that has wicked across the surface of insulation on the underside of the hood of a passenger vehicle. This isn’t anything to be concerned about, it simply means the vehicle has been used in an environment where the roads were salted.
